Working with families is a vital part of the work of any school, and we feel this is key to making our school a success in terms of reintegrating children into mainstream education. The school had a designated family support worker who forms close links with families and offers support with all aspects of their child’s education. There is daily contact with parents/carers via home-school books, phone calls/texts or emails where appropriate.

Each term, parents/carers are invited in to review their child’s progress against IEP targets as well as well see their work and hopefully enjoy the produce from the children’s gardening efforts.

Our family support worker, Michelle Humberston,  has vast experience of working with families in different settings and brings a knowledge of a wide range of services to support families. A parent/carers group will be set up, and participants will be encouraged to meet up once a month.
